It was originally my interest in wildlife research that drew me to pursue graduate education, but opportunities to teach have given me continued motivation and purpose. Since then, I have taught multiple institutions and in a variety of formats, from Bio Blitzes to formal classrooms.
As a lifelong learner, I am constantly exploring ways to improve and refine my teaching approach and methods. I strive to create dynamic and interactive learning environments that facilitate learning, rather than memorization. I try to foster enthusiasm for learning by providing opportunities for students to actively engaging with material beyond traditional lectures. I also believe that emphasizing the learning of writing skills in the sciences is just as important as subject-based content.
