Mauri is the inaugural Bailey Conservation Fellow at The Nature Conservancy in Michigan. She recently received her PhD form the University of Connecticut in the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment. While her research background is in wildlife ecology, her current research is focusing on topics related to landscape ecology, conservation planning, and social-ecological systems.
