15 May 20: Starting June 1st, I will be joining Michigan State University as a Postdoc! Excited to be getting back to my wildlife-roots to study waterfowl, wildlife, and recreational use of managed wetlands in Michigan.

9 Oct 19: My paper in Landscape Ecology was awarded the inaugural Outstanding Student Paper Award by the Biometrics Working Group of The Wildlife Society! I also presented this research at the 2019 TWS conference last week.

19 Feb 2019: I just found out that our paper was accepted in Landscape Ecology! I learned so much with this research; it was a new analysis, new visualizations, and really cool results. I am so excited to share this work!

10 July 2018: I am excited to announce that I have accepted the inaugural 2018 Bailey Fellow position with the Michigan chapter of The Nature Conservancy! I am incredibly excited about this new opportunity and will be Michigan-bound soon!
28 Feb 2018: I submitted my next chapter for peer-review! Super excited to get feedback on this one and also tackle my next research questions.
18 Jan 2018: It's been an exciting start to the Spring semester - about submit a chapter to journal for peer-review; just got back external reviewer comments on my prospectus; started a new GA position at the Writing Center; and we already had a snow day! Bring on 2018!

30 Oct 2017: Just finished my first day at the "Bayesian Integrated Population Modeling" workshop hosted at Patuxent Wildlife Research Station in Maryland! Excited to continue learn these awesome statistically approaches and gain new insights for conserving fish and wildlife species. #nerdtastsic

4 Oct 2017: Had a great time attending and presenting at the TWS conference in Albuquerque, NM. It was great catching up with friends and alumni, meeting new people, and being fully immersed in all things wildlife!
19 Sep 2017: Leaving for TWS Albuquerque in just 3 days! I'm looking forward to a week full of wildlife and conservation. I'll be presenting a part of my dissertation research on Tuesday at 10:50 am during the Conservation Planning & Policy II Concurrent Session (Upper Level, Rm 240 - La Cienega).
9 Aug 2017: Summer has flown by! TWS conference in Albuquerque is around the corner and I'm looking forward to the renewed energy on campus when the semester starts in a couple of weeks!
21 Apr 2017: It's been a busy couple of weeks - a successful presentation at the US-IALE conference, a lab mate and 3 other NRE Master's students defended, andour camera trap paper was published in PloS ONE! A strong finish for the spring semester and 2016-17 academic year!
31 Mar 2017: It been a good week - my lab mate, Cristina Macklem, successfully defended her thesis and I Just got news that a camera trap paper I co-authored was accepted in PLoS ONE! Final proofs coming soon!
24 Mar 2017: Prepping for US-IALE Conference in Baltimore in a couple of weeks. UConn is going to be well represented and the schedule looks like it will be a fantastic conference!
6 Feb 2017: I am officially a PhD Candidate! The paperwork has been signed and I am walking it up the Graduate School this afternoon. Now back to research!
18 Jan 2017: Written exams are done! Next up is the oral exam in two weeks. The final hurdle of my comprehensive exams before (hopefully) becoming a PhD candidate!
5 Jan 2017: After counting down the seconds to 2017, I began my countdown to the start of my comprehensive exams. I'll be starting on Monday so only three more days to go!
2 Dec 2016: The dates are set! I'll be taking my comprehensive exams (written and oral) in early January. Wish me luck!

12 Jul 2016: Productive summer so far writing and learning about genetic algorithms! Fifth paper of the year was sent for review this morning, now it is a waiting game to hear back from reviewers...Fingers crossed!
8 May 2016: The end of another semester! Congrats to my lab mates Mike Evans and Christina Macklem on graduating with their doctoral and undergrad degrees, respectively. The summer is already off to a busy start!
6 Apr 2016: Another successful NEAFWA Conference in the books! Great scientific talks from my lab mates, colleagues, and memorable plenaries. I was also thrilled to present my current research project.
